Biography
Thanks to Alan McGee's concentration on pushing Primal Scream during the mid-'80s for his Creation label, the Bodines probably lost out on some of the attention they justly deserved in their beginning. As a result, the Manchester, England, group left the label for the greener pastures of Magnet after three singles (God Bless, Therese -- which was featured on the NME's infamous C86 compilation -- and Heard It All) released between 1985 and 1986. While on Magnet, the Bodines released the full-length Played and another pair of singles in 1987. By the end of the decade, the band had dissolved; they took their bow with a single for Play Hard. The group consisted of guitarist Paul Brotherton, bassist Tim Burwood, drummer John Rowlands, and guitarist/vocalist Michael Ryan. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
