Biography
Born José Ariel Camacho Barraza, Ariel Camacho was a singer from Angostura, Sinaloa who specialized in música norteña. He formed Ariel Camacho y los Plebes del Rancho with Omar Burgos and César Iván Sánchez, and the trio quickly attracted attention for both their musicality and the band's unusual combination of standard guitar, requinto, and tuba. After successful appearances at several state fairs, they were invited to sign with Del Records, which released their debut album, El Karma, in September 2014. Sadly, Camacho was one of three people killed in a car accident just a few months later in February 2015 at the age of 22. The band's single, "El Karma," topped the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart in March, and the album hit the Top Five of the Latin albums chart. The posthumous albums Hablemos and Recuerden Mi Estilo followed in late 2015 and early 2016, respectively, with the latter making it onto the Billboard 200. ~ Marcy Donelson & Rovi Staff, Rovi
