Biography
A Canadian-American actor, singer, and recording artist, Joshua Henry is best known for his Tony-nominated Broadway roles in The Scottsboro Boys, Violet, and Carousel, and for portraying Aaron Burr in the first touring company of Hamilton. He has also appeared in television and films. In 2021, he released his debut record, the R&B, pop, and vintage soul EP Guarantee.
Born in Winnipeg and raised in Miami, Henry was drawn to the arts after appearing in a high school production of The Music Man. He studied theater at the University of Miami and made his acting debut in 2006 co-starring as Judas in Godspell. In 2011, he joined the Broadway cast of The Scottsboro Boys and landed his first Tony nomination. He continued to earn accolades for his performances in Violet (2014), Hamilton (2017), and Carousel (2018), the latter of which received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Theater Album.
