Juan Pablo Pfirter started out as a radio DJ in his hometown when he was only 15 years old. He soon moved on to spinning at clubs and then producing, collaborating with Pablo Snels as the duo Reflex in addition to recording solo material. He first began touring Europe in 2005, and he set up MindTrip Music in 2006, releasing digital EPs by himself (as Pfirter) and with Jonas Kopp as Plan Tec. Soon after, he released two vinyl EPs on Stockholm LTD in 2008, followed by 12"s on Figure and Polar Noise, as well as a digital collaboration with Monoloc on Synewave, all in 2009. In 2010, Pfirter releases appeared on Chris Liebing's CLR, DMOM, and Stroboscopic Artefacts. Pfirter would continue appearing on Stroboscopic releases, sharing split singles with Dadub and Kangding Ray as well as remixing Xhin. Sessions, another collaboration with Monoloc, was released by CLR in 2012. Also in 2012, MindTrip began releasing music on vinyl, starting with Pfirter's Fractales EP, and most of his subsequent material would arrive through the label, including EPs such as New State of Consciousness (2013) and Procyon (2015). Seek, a split EP with Kopp, appeared on Pole Recordings in 2016, and 2019 single "Defiance" marked a return to Stockholm LTD. Pfirter's debut full-length and most experimental outing yet, The Empty Space, was released by MindTrip in March 2019. After issuing the solo Dosis Multiple EP later that year, Pfirter began the new decade with a spate of collaborative EPs including 2020's El Fortin with Grindvik and Alpha with Oliver Rosemann. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
