Biography
A project of Japanese DJ and producer Yoshiwa Unless Maeda, Dol Lop crafted a computer-age mix of hip-hop, dub, techno, jazz, Eastern classical music and ambient breakbeat. Since releasing a single and CD, Cryptic Audio, under the Dol Lop name, in 1997, however, Maeda has focused his attention on other projects including producing several tracks for Japanese art-pop vocalist Nona Reeves.

Born in rural Japan in 1975, Maeda launched his music career after relocating to Tokyo to study in 1996. Launching a record label, Metro Juice, with fellow DJ and producer, Tomoki W-Moon Tsukamoto, they created a potent team. With Tsukamoto supplying minimal techno accompaniment, Maeda revealed a mastery of ambient breakbeat.

Causing an international sensation as DJ at the opening party for an art show at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in London, Maeda continued to refine his craft after returning to Tokyo. ~ Craig Harris, Rovi
