Biography
During his career, singer, songwriter, and producer Chuck Adams' music has spanned R&B, hip-hop, and country. Adams grew up in Connecticut, listening to a wide array of artists including Dr. Dre, Nirvana, Mariah Carey, Garth Brooks, and Shania Twain. While studying business administration at university, Adams also wrote songs, and made a name for himself among New York's songwriters after graduation. Going by the name Range, he wrote "One More Drink" at a 2008 songwriting camp; the song became a hit for Ludacris and T-Pain, and won Adams an ASCAP award in 2010. During that time, he also wrote songs for Jamie Foxx and Tinie Tempah and produced tracks for Wale and Ray J. A deal with Roc Nation followed, and Range collaborated with Rick Ross on the 2010 single "Ghetto Dance." However, he was dropped from the label in 2011, and Adams spent some time making cathartic R&B before writing more melodic songs that reconnected him with his childhood love of country music. After moving to Nashville, he re-emerged with the single "Shotgun" and the self-released A Thousand Tomorrows EP, both of which appeared in 2015. Adams signed to 300 Entertainment and worked with Jacquire King on the single "Take Me as I Am," which arrived in late 2017. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
