Biography
Aulin, brother of composer and pianist Laura Aulin, studied at the Stockholm Conservatory and also in Berlin. He founded the first continuously active Swedish quartet in 1887 which specialized in Scandinavian music, as well as the traditional classical repertoire. At the turn of the century Aulin devoted more of his time to conducting. He directed and helped to found the Stockholm Konsertf"reningen and conducted The Gteborg Orkesterfrening from 1909 to 1912. His compositions are close in style to that of the German Romantics, exhibiting the influence of Schumann and Greig. He wrote for orchestra as well as chamber works and some incidental music. ~ Lynn Vought, Rovi
