Fleming McWilliams (vocals, flute, percussion) and her brother Shawn (drums, vocals) grew up in East Prairie, MO. Fleming later moved to Nashville and met Miami native John Mark Painter (guitar, trumpet, vocals); the two formed Fleming John with Shawn on drums and Berklee graduate Stan Rawls on bass.
