Dog Power
Biography
Combining its members' roots in indie pop and experimental music, DOG Power forges a darkly compelling sound influenced by Suicide and the Jesus and Mary Chain on releases such as 2018's self-titled mini-album.
DOG Power formed in Christchurch, New Zealand in 2017, when Sam Perry -- formerly of indie rockers Zen Mantra and the synth-pop act Yumi Zouma -- joined forces with experimental musician Henry Nicol. They began making music at LOG Recording, a combined venue and studio located near the city's industrial zone, and let their mutual fascination with cinematic sounds and visuals guide their collaboration. Perry and Nicol then moved to Belgrade, Serbia to focus on their music; Flying Nun released DOG Power's self-titled mini album in November 2018. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
