Dani Konig
Biography
Though Dani Konig hails from Switzerland, don't expect to hear any cowbells on his records. The Zurich DJ and producer specializes in acid house and is firmly in tune with what's happening on Europe's vibrant dance scene. He's been a regular on the Swiss and German club circuits since the early '80s and has, time and again, received rave reviews for his work on the decks. Konig first turned heads in record shops during the early '90s with the compilation album Konigreich (or Konig's nation), which proved a commercial success at home and abroad. Following the release of several popular club numbers, which appeared on a variety of popular compilations, Konig made the important step of signing with Munich's legendary Kosmo Records in 1988. There he joined a plethora of German star DJs such as Tom Novy, Eniac, Da Hool, and Phil Fuldner. That same year, Konig served up the single Disco 3000 -- which topped the dance charts in both Europe and the U.S. -- and remixed Phil Fuldner's mega European hit Final. In 1999, Konig hooked up with Moby, remixing the worldwide hit Bodyrock for the famous New York DJ and producer. ~ David Peter Wesolowski, Rovi
