Biography
Singer/songwriter Kat Eggleston was born and raised on Washington State's Vashon Island. She spent her childhood learning how to sing from her mother and studying piano for 11 years. Graduating in 1983 from the Interplayers Ensemble of Spokane, Eggleston began performing folk classics and originals the following year with the Ferryboat Musicians, Four Women at Play, Fool Moon, and David Bromberg. Her captivating alto and versatile guitar style was first captured on record with the release of First Warm Wind in 1989, which led to featured performances at the Kerrville and Columbia River Festivals.

Eggleston moved to the Chicago area the following year and soon signed a deal with local folk label Waterbug Records. Releases with Eggleston's partner Andrew Calhoun and two solo albums, 1994's Second Nature and 1996's Outside Eden, followed. 1999 saw Waterbug reissue First Warm Wind. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
