Biography
A child of music from the age of five, Anne Lindsay was taught in voice, piano, and violin. It was the latter which she greatly excelled at, leading her to continue her musical education at the Royal Conservatory of Music as well as York University. Having grown up influenced by violinists such as Jean-Luc Ponty, the musician was equally in love with rock groups such as the Grateful Dead and Jimi Hendrix. As a result, it's the myriad of styles which has led her to perform with Roger Daltrey, Blue Rodeo, members of Led Zeppelin, as well as the Chieftains. A credible freelance musician by trade, Lindsay stepped away from music for eight years to concentrate on her family and raising her children. In 2001, she entered the studio to record her debut album, Eavesdropping. The album, recorded in Toronto, features a myriad of styles and influences, from chamber music, to jazz, to rock and classical. She continues to tour and has shared the stage with Jim Cuddy and John McDermott. ~ Jason MacNeil, Rovi
