After fronting the New York avant garde ensemble Dustdevils during the 1980's "no wave" scene, singer/ guitarist Jacqui parted ways from the rock and roll lifestyle for several years before meeting up with a bunch of indie kids from Northern England to form Cha Cha Cohen. With their first single Sparky's Note released in 1996, Chemikal Underground Records took notice and released the 538 EP followed by Spook On The Highway the next year.
