Biography
Baroque violinist Hiro Kurosaki has become a prominent figure in the field of historically informed performances, both as a performer and an educator. A native of Tokyo, Kurosaki was seven when his family moved to Vienna. He studied violin with Franz Samohyl, and participated in Nathan Milstein's master classes. A winner of prizes in the Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition and the Fritz Kreisler Competition, Kurosaki appeared with many major orchestras. As a performer on the Baroque violin, Kurosaki has worked with Les Arts Florissants, the Clemencic Consort, Cappella Coloniensis, and La Ritirata, and he has been a guest artist at many international early music festivals. Kurosaki has held teaching positions at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, the University of Music in Karlsruhe, and the Mozarteum Salzburg. ~ Blair Sanderson, Rovi
