Today's Sounds
Biography
Today's Sounds is a duo comprised of Meat Puppets drummer Derrick Bostrom and friend Bruce Sandig. Although Bostrom sings and plays guitar, he was never afforded the opportunity to show his multi-instrumental talents with the Puppets. So when the band decided to take a break in the late '90s, Bostrom put together a band to play his favorite obscurities from the '60s,'70s, and '80s. With Derrick handling drumming, singing, and guitar duties and Sandig playing the bass and keyboards, they soon signed with their longtime friends at Amarillo Records. So far their recording output has been a lone, yet intriguing single, entitled Songs of Spiritual Uplift as Sung By Today's Sounds. Comprised of forgotten covers, such as the Archies' "Nursery Rhyme" and Jerry Buckner and Gary Garcia's 1982 hit "Pac-Man Fever," the single proved to be lighthearted and fun. ~ Greg Prato, Rovi
