Biography
The Canadian singer/songwriter Kai became best known for her collaborations with electronic artists. She grew up in Toronto, where she attended Bishop Strachan School, whose notable alumnae include actresses Linda Thorson and Laurie Holden.

Kai released her debut record, 11:11, in 2011, but as the EP had very little promotion it failed to chart. Her career started to take off when she embarked on her first collaboration with Adventure Club, a dubstep act from Montreal. She contributed writing and vocals to "Need Your Heart," and the track hit number two in the iTunes electronic music chart. Following that collaboration, Kai teamed up with the high profile electronic artist Diplo, from the group Major Lazer. Again, she contributed to the writing of the track "Revolution," and sang on the record. She also lent her vocal talents to hip-hop artist Childish Gambino's track "Crawl" in 2013.

2014 saw Kai collaborating with another major artist when she wrote the song "Sweet Talker" for Jessie J's record of the same name. The following year she reunited with Diplo for his and Skrillrex's project Jack U to contribute the track "Mind." Building on these successes, Kai teamed up with Australian electronic artist Flume. She wrote and contributed vocals to the song "Never Be like You," which reached the Top 20 in the U.S. ~ Bekki Bemrose, Rovi
