Biography
The music of Portland, OR-based the Village Green harks back to the time of the British Invasion, with influences like the Beatles, the Kinks (from whose song and album The Village Green Preservation Society they got their name), and Brit-pop acts like Oasis and Supergrass heard clearly in their work. With J. Nicholas Allard on vocals, Nathan Anderson on keyboards and guitar, Dave Depper on bass, and Jeremy Sherrer on drums, the Village Green released their self-titled EP in 2005. The next year the band recorded their debut full-length, Feeling the Fall, in Sherrer's basement (he also produced the album), and though both Depper and Anderson left to pursue other ventures, both the release and the accompanying tour went on as planned, though a replacement band was found for the live shows. ~ Marisa Brown, Rovi
