Bluford D. Wade
Biography
A bizarre trivial footnote in rock history, Bluford D. Wade sang the lead vocals on Give Me Love, which served as the B-side of Rosie the Originals' hit 1960s rock ballad Angel Baby. This chaotic, made-up-on-the-spot midtempo R&B rocker only got on the record because Rosie the Originals, at the recording session that yielded Angel Baby, only had that one song to record, and needed something for the B-side. Wade was a local R&B singer, asked to sing and write Give Me Love at the session, with backing by the Originals. Give Me Love was reissued on the Ace CD The Best of Rosie the Originals, although it was the only Rosie the Originals track on which Wade participated. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
