Biography
Adler obtained a sterling education from such distinguished teachers as Copland, Hindemith and Thompson. After joining the Army in 1950, he formed The Seventh Army SO and conducted over 75 concerts in Germany and Austria, an accomplishment that earned him the Medal of Honor. He went on to conduct operas and concerts throughout the USA and Europe. He took a position at North Texas State University as professor of composition in 1958, and in 1966 started teaching at Eastman School, later becoming chairman of composition. ~ Lynn Vought, Rovi
