Charlie Benante is best known as the drummer for thrash metal legends Anthrax and crossover agitators Stormtroopers of Death. A dual-threat, Benante's long tenure with Anthrax has been spent both behind the kit and behind the scenes, having co-written a sizeable portion of the band's material alongside guitarist Scott Ian. In 2021 Benante released his debut solo LP, Silver Linings.

The Bronx native joined Anthrax in 1983 and has appeared on every one of the band's albums, adding his signature blastbeats and double-kick technique, both of which he helped to popularize over the years. A talented graphic artist, he has created many of the group's album covers and T-shirt designs. He is also a member (drums and guitar) of the Anthrax-adjacent crossover thrash outfit Stormtroopers of Death.

In 2020 Benante began hosting his own "quarantine jam" video series, inviting an array of musicians to join him remotely to cover some of his favorite songs and rekindle the creative drive that had all but disappeared in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
