As with his Sephardic Tinge project, Anthony Coleman's Selfhaters released their first CD under Coleman's name and their second in 1998 under the band name. There are also variations in the group's line-up. Selfhaters is Coleman on various keys and trombone, Jim Pugliese on percussion and trumpet, and Doug Wieselman on e-flat clarinet. The Selfhaters Orchestra adds reedist Michael Attias and cellist Fred Lonberg-Holm (who also plays banjo) to the mix.
