Biography
Texan band Homer recorded a rare psychedelic-progressive rock album in 1970 for the United Record Artist label, Grown in U.S.A.. The LP was an uncertain mix of multi-sectioned songs (sometimes with Mellotron) that had similarities to hard rock-based early British progressive rock, with touches of folk-rock and country-rock. Though played and arranged with confidence, it didn't have material of high-enough quality to make it one of the better rarities of its type. The group also recorded three singles in 1969-70, and both sides of the third were added to the 2002 CD reissue as bonus tracks. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
