Biography
A Latin pop trio from Monterrey, Mexico, 3BallMTY popularized the tribal guarachero style stateside with their full-length album debut, Inténtalo, which topped the Regional Mexican Albums chart in 2011. The trio is comprised of Erick Rincón, Sheeqo Beat (born Sergio Zavala), and DJ Otto (born Albert Presenda), all of whom were teenagers at the time of Inténtalo's release on Fonovisa, a division of Universal Music Latino. Produced by Toy Selectah, the album was instrumental in popularized tribal guarachero stateside. Synonymous with pointy boots and skinny jeans, tribal guarachero combines Mexican cumbia with cutting-edge electronic dance music. 3BallMTY were far and away the style's most successful representatives. Peaking at number two on the Top Latin Albums chart, Inténtalo spawned a hit single in its title track. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
