Coyote Clean Up
from Detroit, MI
Biography
Prolific Detroit-based producer Christian Jay Sienkiewicz makes atmospheric, melodic house music as Ice Cold Chrissy and Coyote Clean Up. During his childhood in Cleveland, Ohio, he learned about music from his mother and MTV, hearing about the Velvet Underground from the former and Whitney Houston from the latter. After his family moved to Detroit, he played in various punk and indie bands and went to high school with electro wunderkind Jimmy Edgar. He listened to the city's eclectic local radio, drawing inspiration from the dream pop and alternative rock played on one station and the hip-hop, R&B, house, and techno played on others. Sienkiewicz began recording as Coyote Clean Up in the late 2000s, with bedroom recording sessions materializing in early output like 2009's Double Trouble on Afternoons Modeling as well as the following year's split EP with FUR and a limited-edition cassette, Downhill Exxxpress, on I Had an Accident Records. After releasing a split single with DenMother in 2011, Coyote Clean Up released four titles by April 2012, including a collaboration with Phantasmagoria; the cassette Double Doom; Frozen Solid, Sienkiewicz's debut release for 100% Silk; and 2 Hot 2 Wait, his first album to be released on CD and vinyl. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
