Biography
Technofeminist object blue makes revolution-minded experimental club music that places equal importance on daring sound design and commanding rhythms. After attracting positive attention for her visceral live performances, she issued her first two EPs in 2018.

Born in Tokyo but raised in Beijing, object blue attended university in London from 2011 to 2014. After spending a year back home in Beijing, she returned to London in 2015 and started to frequent the city's clubs every weekend. She soon began combining her interest in experimental sound construction with her passion for dance music, and her tracks began appearing on digital compilations in 2016. Following a series of well-received live performances, Tobago Tracks released object blue's debut EP, Do You Plan to End a Siege?, in March of 2018. Dedicated to "all the women on the dancefloor," the EP's propulsive club tracks incorporated samples ranging from Cardi B to female martial artists. A few months later, her second, more abstract EP, Rex, was released by Let's Go Swimming. She also remixed tracks by Yaeji, Sim Hutchins, and Rebecca Phillips during the year. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
