Biography
A successful American actress, philanthropist, and animal lover who is best known for her portrayal of TV detective/cult icon Veronica Mars, appearances in films like Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Couples Retreat, and an adorable Internet video featuring a sloth, Kristen Anne Bell was born in Huntington Woods, Michigan on July 18, 1980. In 2013 Bell added singing to her feature film repertoire (she studied musical theater and opera while in college, and had appeared in musicals on Broadway and television) by providing the voice for Anna, the lead in the award-winning animated Disney fantasy film Frozen. The film's blockbuster soundtrack led to three Billboard Hot 100 appearances for Bell in "For the First Time in Forever" (with Idina Menzel), "Love Is an Open Door," and "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" Just in time for the 2014 holiday season, she recorded "Text Me a Merry Christmas" with the a cappella group Straight No Chaser. ~ James Christopher Monger & Marcy Donelson, Rovi
