Biography
An adventurous collaborative jazz ensemble, New York's Hush Point make angular, atmospheric jazz informed by '50s West Coast jazz as well as the '60s free jazz of Ornette Coleman. Formed in 2011, the group features lauded trumpeter/educator John McNeil along with forward-thinking saxophonist Jeremy Udden, bassist Aryeh Kobrinsky, and drummer Anthony Pinciotti. Together, they debuted in 2013 on the Sunnyside label with an eponymous album that included originals alongside covers of songs by Jimmy Giuffre. Blues and Reds followed a year later, and in 2017 they delivered Hush Point, Vol. 3, which found them exploring an even more eclectic stylistic palette. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
