Biography
An American actor and singer who is best known for his starring roles in the 1980 Disney comedy Midnight Madness and the 1981 horror classic An American Werewolf in London, David Naughton also hit it big on the Billboard charts with the 1979 pop hit "Makin' It." The son of Connecticut teachers and younger brother of theater and film actor James Naughton, David's first gigs arrived via the usual array of television commercials, with the most prominent being Dr. Pepper. In 1979 he was cast in the U.S. television series Makin' It, which was based on the popular film Saturday Night Fever. While the program only lasted two months, Naughton recorded the title song, and it scaled the charts, sitting comfortably in the Billboard Top 40 for 16 weeks. Naughton never recorded again, choosing to continue focusing on his acting career. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
