Catherine A.D.
from London, England
Biography
To say that Catherine A.D. (born Catherine Anne Davies) caused an immediate impact would be putting it mildly. Landing collaborators like Bernard Butler and Liam Howe or drawing comparisons to such legendary English songstresses as PJ Harvey and Kate Bush is no mean feat. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, chanteuse, and songwriter specializing in a mélange of chamber pop and dark atmospheres, Catherine A.D. first hit the scene as an "emerging artist in residence" at an artists' collective. Eventually, she released a debut EP -- Carry Your Heart -- that created enough of a stir to land the aforementioned production team of Butler and Howe. The resulting work, to be made into a debut full-length, was being put together as of 2009. ~ Chris True, Rovi
