Benjamin Bevan
Biography
Baritone Benjamin Bevan attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on a scholarship. He gave his first professional performance at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in the role of Henry Cuffe in Britten's Gloriana, and debuted at the Scottish Opera as Marcello in Puccini's La bohème. Among the other roles he has sung are Lescaut in Henze's Boulevard Solitude, Roderick in Getty's Usher House, the Ferryman in Britten's Curlew River, and Count Almaviva in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro. As a concert artist, Bevan has sung with the Wroclaw Baroque, the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, the Bach Collegium Japan, the Royal Northern Sinfonia, and the London Bach Society.
