Biography
Contemporary R&B singer Maeta introduced her soulful, intimate style on a series of short-form releases culminating with the Kaytranada-produced "Teen Scene" featuring Buddy in 2020. It was included on her Roc Nation debut, the EP Habits, in 2021.

Hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana, Maeta posted songs on social media and music-sharing sites as a teenager before moving to Los Angeles in 2019 while in her late teens. Late that year, she released her debut EP, Do Not Disturb, on her own label, Maeta's World Music. The opening track, "Babygirl," made waves, and she next teamed up with Ambré for the collaborative single "Color Blind." The Kaytranada-produced "Teen Scene" featuring Buddy appeared a few months later in September 2020 and soon garnered millions of streams across platforms. After a featured spot on the James Fauntleroy track "Mistletoe," she followed it with "Toxic" featuring BEAM in March of 2021. That recording was executive-produced by Skrillex. Signing with Roc Nation, Maeta returned a month later with the retro soul-infused "Bitch Don't Be Mad" from the EP Habits. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
