Bernie Shaw
Biography
Bernie Shaw started out as a guitarist, but upon auditioning for his first band it was suggested that he change his vocation to vocalist. He did so, and joined that band called Cold Sweat. They later changed their name to Buckshot before calling it quits. His next band was a group called Legend. Shaw only remained with that group for only nine months. 1978 saw him join the band Dirty Tricks. He also played with Phil Lanzon in Paris that same year. Both of them joined Grand Prix late that year. He cut their self-titled album with them, but was replaced in 1981. His next move was to a group called Praying Mantis. This group cut an EP called Tell Me the Nightmare's Wrong. His next group was former Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr's band. That group became the band with the ever-changing name. They released several albums under various names. Shaw's next move was on to Uriah Heep, where was the lead singer ever since hooking up with them in 1995. Though he has continued to work on various projects during his tenure with the band, Heep is now his home. ~ Gary Hill, Rovi
