Melissa Helser
Biography
Sophia, North Carolina-based worship leader Melissa Helser -- alongside her husband Jonathan David -- help run the multi-generational ministry A Place for the Heart, which was created by his parents, as well as a youth worship school, 18-Inch Journey, and a creative collective called Cageless Birds. Helser and her husband's first musical release, Long Story Short, appeared in 2011, followed by their sophomore album, On the Shores, in 2012. Joining the Bethel Music Collective in 2014, Helser and her husband reissued On the Shores along with its companion release, Endless Ocean, Bottomless Sea, in 2015. Helser's eighth recording with her husband, Beautiful Surrender, appeared in September 2016, topping the U.S. Christian charts as well as placing in the U.K., Canadian, and the Billboard Top 200. The Helsers also appeared on Bethel's Have It All ("Thank You") and We Will Not Be Shaken ("No Longer Slaves"). They later contributed "Raise a Hallelujah" to 2019's Victory. ~ Rich Wilson, Rovi
