Having parted ways with London-based band Yuck in early 2013, Blumberg wasted little time in announcing his new solo project, Hebronix. While Yuck traveled to New York to record their second album -- with Max Bloom on lead vocals in his longtime musical partner's stead -- London-born Blumberg put the finishing touches to Unreal. The album was produced by Neil Hagerty of Royal Trux and first introduced to fans via the dreamy, college rock sound of its title track. At the end of April, Hebronix embarked on a U.K. tour with Low in preparation for the summer release of Unreal through ATP Recordings. Blumberg kept busy with other projects over the next few years, releasing Minus, his first effort under his own name, on Mute in 2018. Later in the year, the same label released Liv, a previously unreleased album recorded over three days during 2014. Featuring guest musicians Kohhei Matsuda (monosynth), Billy Steiger (violin), and Tom Wheatley (double bass), the album was credited to both Blumberg and Hebronix and given a limited vinyl release in late 2018, with a full release following in March of 2019. ~ Daniel Clancy & Paul Simpson, Rovi
