DJ Rectangle is known as a battle DJ -- he won the U.S. DMC championship in 1993 -- as well as a producer and prolific mix DJ. Since the mid-'90s, Rectangle has produced a seemingly endless series of schizophrenic battle records and party-friendly mixtapes. The Los Angeles-based DJ's mixes favor West Coast artists, often with exclusive tracks from well-known artists like Dr. Dre and Warren G, who has employed Rectangle as his live DJ since 2000.
