Born and raised on Maui, Meola grew up listening to classic singer/songwriters like Joni Mitchell and Carole King as well as blues and jazz. Her talent developed early, and by the age of 11 she was performing at local bars and cafés. For a relatively small island, Maui's musical community is stacked with high-profile residents including super-producer Bob Rock, who went on to mentor the young musician. She also received songwriting guidance from Jackson Browne and toured with another Maui-based legend, Willie Nelson.
Meola eventually landed a record deal, and her career seemed to be moving steadfastly forward when her mother was diagnosed with cancer. While working as her mother's caretaker, Meola lost both her record deal and eventually her mother. Trying to move on from this difficult period, she successfully auditioned for the 2022 season of the NBC talent contest America's Got Talent. By this point, she had a few singles under her belt, the most prominent of which was the motivational anthem "Daydream." Meola didn't win the competition, but the exposure gave her career a significant boost, and she released her debut EP, Daydream, in late 2022. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
