Biography
Members of the suburban Detroit-based indie rock act the Silent Years were all close friends in school, and formed the group in the early part of the 2000s. After disbanding for a period of time to attend college, the friends regrouped and started to perform again in venues around the area. The band built up a following in Detroit, and broadened its fan base with an impressive performance at South by Southwest in 2006. The group -- vocalist/guitarist Josh Epstein, bassist Pat Michalak, brothers Jeremy and Jonathan Edwards (drums and guitar, respectively), and keyboardist Rosalind Christian -- self-released a seven-song debut in early 2006, Stand Still Like the Hummingbird, and a self-titled full-length on the No Alternative imprint followed that October. The Globe was released in 2008. ~ Rob Theakston, Rovi
