Biography
Following the breakthrough success of INXS' 1987 album Kick, the group's charismatic frontman Michael Hutchence returned to his native Australia to form the side project Max Q with Ollie Olsen of the punk band Whirlywirld. The twosome, who first collaborated to record music for the 1986 film #Dogs in Space, co-wrote and co-produced Max Q's self-titled debut album, a far more noisy and politically charged effort than Hutchence's past work in INXS. Although the singles Way of the World and Sometimes cracked the Aussie charts, the record nevertheless failed to garner much international attention and was the duo's sole release. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
