James Raynard
Biography
Like many a budding singer/songwriter, English folksinger James Raynard came to the genre through the songs of Bob Dylan. The self-taught guitarist studied folklore at Sheffield University and took up the fiddle, eventually developing a relationship with British folk legend Martin Carthy. He began playing and singing at festivals, where he caught the ears of One Little Indian's folk imprint, Unearthed. He signed with the label in 2004, releasing his debut, Strange Histories, in September of the following year. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
