Biography
New York's Miracle of 86 (named after the "miracle" Mets baseball team of 1986) is comprised of Kevin Devine (vocals/guitar), Mike Robertson (guitar), Chris McAllen (bass) and Mike Skinner (drums, formerly of Sidedoor Johnnies). Following a contribution to Deep Elm records' 1998 Emo Diaries Vol. 2 compilation, the band released its first record in November 2000 on Fadeaway records, re-issued a year later on Immigrant Sun. They toured in 2001, which included three weeks in Canada and four dates on the Vans Warped Tour. In March 2002 they released Kevin Kolankowski, an eight-song semi-acoustic album. Miracle of 86 has played with a who's who of emo and indie rock, including Dashboard Confessional, The Promise Ring, Rival Schools, Desaparecidos, Milemarker, Ultimate Fakebook, Hey Mercedes, Rainer Maria, Engine Down, Rilo Kiley, Piebald and Jazz June. In addition to its third full-length due in early 2003 on Lakeshore, Kevin Devine has also released a solo record on Immigrant Sun. ~ Kenyon Hopkin, Rovi
