DJ Eddie Def (The Last Kreep) can easily be considered a pioneer of turntablism, creating his art through scratching and quick mixing. He began his career in San Francisco's Mission district where he met DJ Quest and DJ 2 Fresh. Def and Quest hooked up in 1988 and were joined by DJ Cue in 1991, thereby forming a trio called the Bullet Proof Scratch Hamsters (now called the Bullet Proof Space Travelers).
