Biography
Few works of Johann Ludwig Bach remain. Those that do remain (primarily cantatas) are due to Johann Sebastian Bach who performed nearly a score of them. These were the most important as well as the focus of much of Ludwig's composing. "Denn wirst meine Seele" was written by Ludwig but for quite some time attributed to Sebastian. Ludwig was employed in Meiningen and Eisenach and his positions ranged from court musician, Kantor to Kappellmeister though he did not desire to obtain a teaching position. ~ Keith Johnson, Rovi
