Raised in the Centrepointe area of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Fine grew up listening to jazz and classical music. She first began singing at age 11 and performed throughout high school. While music was her passion, she studied culinary arts while attending Ottawa's Algonquin College. It was there, in 2014, that she met and began collaborating with songwriter/producer Elijah Woods. After finishing in first place on the 2018 talent competition show The Launch, the duo released the Ryan Tedder-produced song "Ain't Easy." The track reached the Top 40 of the Canadian Hot 100 in April of that year and earned them a 2019 SOCAN Pop Music Award. That November they returned to the Hot 100 with "Better Off," reaching number 69. Both tracks were included on their 2019 debut EP, 8:47, which earned them Juno Award nominations for Group of the Year and Pop Album of the Year. The song "Want You Back" arrived in March 2020, and Fine collaborated with the Colombian group Nanpa Básico on the song "No Sé Qué Somos." She also released her debut solo track, "Sellout," on Big Machine Records. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
