Biography
Latin pop balladeer Iván leveraged his appearance on the Univision television show #Objetivo Fama into a recording deal with Machete Music in 2007. Born Iván Oswaldo López on March 16, 1985, in Mexico City, he moved several times with his family, eventually moving stateside to Los Angeles, CA, in 1992, and finally settling in Corona, CA, in 1999. Iván appeared on several television shows, including #Cuánto Cuesta el Show Infantil, #Quiero Ser una Estrella, #Sueños de Fama, and #Cante y Gane, before attaining fame via #Objetivo Fama, where he was a finalist on the fourth season and, in turn, participated in El Fama Tour, which traveled across Puerto Rico. In the wake of his success on #Objetivo Fama, Iván recorded his debut album, La Voz, which Machete Music, a division of Universal Music Group, released in October 2007. Comprised of songs sung by his idols, namely José José, Juan Gabriel, Emmanuel, Pepe Aguilar, and Marco Antonio Solís, La Voz spawned a hit single, Si Me Dejas Ahora (originally by José José), and peaked at number five on Billboard's Latin Pop Albums chart. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
