Dougie F was born Douglas Ford in Orange, New Jersey.
When he was young, Ford competed with his older brother, who was also an MC, building skills that would help him once he got to college. In 2010, while attending the Virginia Union University, he released his debut mixtape, The End Is Never Near. His breakout single, "Back Up on It," featured DJ Fire. A year later he issued the mixtape So Far, So Good, featuring the hit club track "One Cup." In 2015, he released the single "On Purpose," which took off when Pitbull jumped on the remix. His official debut, BlockParty, also arrived that year.
Two years later, Dougie F paired with Kyle for the Rami Beatz-produced single "Homegirl." That track appeared on his 2017 effort Yellow Durag. The next year, he issued the singles "Iceberg" and "Pick It Up," as well as his second album, In Your Feelings. He issued multiple stand-alone tracks in 2019, and in 2020 he released the first installment of what was planned as a multi-part mixtape series, Without a Smile, on the STRAGG Records label. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
