Children of Alice
Biography
Featuring former Broadcast members James Cargill and Roj Stevens along with the Focus Group's Julian House, Children of Alice expanded on the dreamy experimental electronics of their other projects. The group's name was a tribute to late Broadcast singer Trish Keenan, a lifelong Alice in Wonderland fan who counted Jonathan Miller's 1966 television adaptation of the book among her major influences. Children of Alice made their debut in 2013 with "The Harbinger of Spring," a 20-minute suite released as one-half of Devon Folklore Tapes, Vol. 5: Ornithology, a limited-edition split cassette with Mary Arches on Folklore Tapes. That piece also appeared on the group's self-titled debut album, which Warp released in February 2017. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
