Biography
Brooklyn-based performer Anna Wise is a gifted singer/songwriter known for her sophisticated, jazz, R&B, and hip-hop infused pop. Raised in Northern California, Wise became interested in music at a young age and later honed her skills studying at Berklee School of Music in Boston. After college, she formed the duo Sonnymoon with fellow Berklee classmate Dane Orr and released several albums, including 2012's Sonnymoon and 2015's Golden Age. She also worked as a member of the ensemble Built to Fade with Dane Ferguson, Zoë Wick, and Kno of CunninLynguists. During this period, she caught the attention of rapper Kendrick Lamar, who invited her to collaborate on material and subsequently included her on his albums Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, and To Pimp a Butterfly, the latter of which earned her a Grammy Award for her performance on the song "These Walls."
