Biography
Detroit native Garry Glenn was a gifted songwriter, singer, and keyboardist. As a teenager he toured with his sister, the gospel singer Beverly Glenn, but turned his attention to writing in the 1980s, penning songs for the Emotions, Earth, Wind Fire, Freddie Jackson, Eddie Kendricks, and the Dramatics, among others. Anita Baker recorded what is probably his most widely known composition, Caught in the Rapture, and Glenn worked for a time as a keyboardist in her touring band, a position he also held with Billy Ocean. His first solo album, Garry Glenn, was released in 1980, and a second, Feels Good to Feel Good, came out on Motown Records in 1987. Glenn passed away on September 18, 1991. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
