Biography
Bruce Morshead, Norm Sherrat, Peter Deremiccious, Ken Pernokis and Gene MacLellan founded Little Caesar and the Consuls in 1957 in Toronto. (Robbie Robertson was also a member for a short time.) The group recorded several Canadian hits during the mid-'60s (including "If I Found a New Girl," "My Girl Sloopy," "You Really Got a Hold on Me" and "Mercy Mr. Perry"). Morshead left in 1966 and the band broke up in 1971, but re-formed in 1973, 1976 and 1993 with various original members. The latter reunion spawned the album Since 1956. A self-titled 1965 album is also available. ~ John Bush, Rovi
