Biography
Venezuelan-born, New York-based flutist Marco Granados incorporates his love of classical, folk, and jazz music into his diverse career as a teacher, recording artist, and solo and ensemble performer. Granados has been particularly influential in raising the profile of Latin and Latin American music, helping found the Amerigo Ensemble and Camerata Latinoamericana, as well as performing with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lima in Peru, and with the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela among many others.

Musical study also plays a large part in Granados' life, as a pupil and a teacher. He studied at Juilliard and also received a bachelor's degree in music from the Mannes College of Music, and participated in special study with flute masters James Galway and Jean-Pierre Rampal. Granados was also an artist-in-residence at Chicago's Northwestern University, and teaches privately in New York. He is also a member of Horizon Concerts, a group dedicated to presenting classical music to students, the elderly, the underprivileged, and hospital and hospice patients. Granados' debut solo recording, Sunflute, came out in 1999. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
